Reflections on my Undergraduate Years

As I’m heading back to the academia in a few more weeks for my graduate study, I think it’s about time to ponder on some of the lessons I learned since I left school for work. Back then in college, I was but a soloist, pessimistic and a one-dimensional thinker. But some things have changed.

I guess this may just be a natural outgrowth of maturity, but I do know that these lessons are known by some people younger than me. Indeed, these lessons are rather old, but told from my own perspective.

Lesson #1: Integrate your interests

Lesson #2: Save and invest

Lesson #3: Seek sage advice

Lesson #4: Take advantage of an OJT or an exchange program

Lesson #5: Have a purpose – Know why you’re doing what you’re doing
